Terms of use
Effective [Effective date]
The short version: Talx changes Windows settings to help your games run smoother, and every change can be undone. Use it on PCs you own or are allowed to manage, don't misuse it, and keep your own backups of anything important.
1. Who we are
These terms are an agreement between you and [Company name] ("we", "us"), the maker of Talx. By downloading, installing or using Talx, you agree to them.
2. What Talx does
Talx is a Windows app that frees memory, lowers or pauses background apps, changes power plans and process priorities, applies Windows settings you choose, and cleans junk files. It runs with administrator rights, because Windows requires them for these changes.
Talx records each change before making it so you can undo it from the Restore page. Cleaned files are kept for 7 days before they're permanently deleted. Talx does not modify game files or game memory.
3. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Talx on Windows PCs you own or are allowed to manage. You may not resell Talx, reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows, or remove its notices.
4. Your account
You need an account to use Talx. Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least [minimum age] to create one.
5. Free and Premium
The Free plan includes a limited number of boosts per day. Premium removes that limit and includes premium features as we release them.
[Billing terms: price, billing period, renewals, how to cancel, refunds, taxes and the payment processor. Add these once pricing is final.]
6. Fair use
Don't use Talx to break the law, harm other people's computers, or get around plan limits (for example with multiple accounts on one PC).
7. Backups and your PC
We work hard to make every change safe and reversible, and Talx creates a Windows restore point before big changes. Still, every PC is different, so please keep your own backups of anything important.
8. Games and other companies
Talx isn't affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or any game publisher or platform. Game and platform names are used only to describe compatibility. Results depend on your hardware and setup, and we don't promise a specific performance gain.
9. No warranty
Talx is provided "as is" and "as available", to the extent the law allows. We don't guarantee that it will be error-free or work on every system.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Talx. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. [Have this section reviewed for your country.] Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be limited by law.
11. Ending
You can stop using Talx and delete your account at any time. To put your PC back the way it was, use Restore → Undo everything before uninstalling. We may suspend accounts that break these terms.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Country / State].
